ACE - AN ILLUSTRATION OF YOUR ADVENTURE - ACE

Welcome back to a new edition of the A.C.E. Has your summer got off to a good start? The "June Gloom" that we experience here in California has slowly stepped aside for the star of the month; the Sun! Hmm... i suppose he truly is a star, if you consider you were standing on a planet billions of miles away from him. In any case, he is burning up this side of town. For those who arnt in the summer season, i say to you "move aside, you've had your turn" lol. I definately love the summer as theres so much to do and the perfect time to take a ride to the beach to hang out with some friends. Happy Summer and summer holidays to all

This months issue of the A.C.E. focuses on planning and technilogical updates and talents around the Colony. Each resident and staff member in Adventure seems to have a talent which contributes to the entertainment or enjoyment of the colony. As I had a look around the colony and got to know a few faces, i couldnt help but notice all the different ways fellow citizens are attracting other citizens to the colony. Lets not waist any time in featuring some of those works.

Skype Is Whats Happening!

"Hello, are you there?" are the first words spoken as I talked to Colonel_klink for the first time. Like many in Adventure, we are known friends and co-workers of Adventure by chat but strangers of by voice. Despite this, it surely didnt stop us from jumping straight into voice conversation and discussions about the colony on June 24th as we tried Skype, an instant messaging program which allows you to not only text chat with one another but it goes beyond that by allowing you to make free calls to friends and family from computer to computer or from computer to phone line. Klink invited all CD staff to try this inovative program in possibly striking a new way of communicating between one another. Klink also suggested that this may be the pioneering stage of communication, being the first colony to use this program for PodCast interviews. The technology is out there, its just a matter of finding a way to use it in Cybertown. Its agreed that Skype is definately 100 times better than any form of communication used today in Cybertown. Using skype or a similiar program is the next best thing from all of us flying to one location and meeting in a room and shaking hands. Perhaps in the future, we can utilize such technology for all staff meetings. The only additional accessory needed to use the voice features of skype is a headset which doesnt cost much. I dont promote the software itself, however i do promote it as the new way we are begining to communicate. If you would like to join myself for voice chat, download Skype at www.skype.com. Inbox me for my contact information.

The Dster Reports

Hello everyone, BigDster here, NL of the Wilderness Hood. As some of you may or may not have noticed, Wilderness Hood has gone through extensive changes within the Hood. All of the MB's, thanks to Zea, have went through major overhauls, to include music that simply soothes the soul, plus each Block has a new "Icon" image that reflects what the Wilderness Hood is all about. So if you have'nt seen what changes have been made I suggest that you do so, because who knows, you may like it :D!

Journey Gets A New Website

After weeks of web designing and then days of having to start fresh, JetMoto2, NL of Journey completes the first hood website for Journey. In reviewing the website, its best described as a informational site for those who either reside in Journey Hood of those interested in becoming a member of the Journey hood. The sources provided on the website are Journeys visions and goals as a hood, the relationship between Journey and adventures, staff, current and upcoming events, information about the Neighborhood Leader, a forum for you to discuss issues related to Journey hood, and helpful links to other resources in Adventure Colony and Cybertown. The websites design definately fits into the overal nature theme of Journey Hood.

Take a look some time HERE.

New staff in the Adventure

June 23, 2006

May was filled with many promotions within the colony level staff. This month we find a few promotions among the hoods. Why is this so important? Well it shows that as we are starting with new staff from the top and going down, our positions are becoming more solid in numbers and coverage. Not only is this a boost in staff but its a boost in the services provided to the residents in Adventure. The more staff, the most avaliability and services we can bring to the residents and lower staff structure of Adventure.

We would like to congraluate the following staff members on their promotions and accomplishments this month. After a long hiring process in Adventure which still continues today, here are your new staff:

JetMoto2 - The Journey Hood NL
CypressBlade - Imagination Hood NL
BigDster - Wilderness Hood NL

Azidbrn - Explorers Hood ND
Tawnie - Explorers Hood ND
craigie - Imagination Hood ND

Wow, for a first time learner of html, it can be rough im sure. The simple thing like changing the color of a text can feel like taking a final exam. You sit their for hours on end just trying to learn the basics. For this months issue, lets look at how to marquee text:

< marquee> Insert text here < /marquee>

It is that simple. In doing this html, it will cause your text to move horizontally across the screen. Now dont you feel better knowing html can be that easy?

*****

Just Trivia

Remembering the major events is what I like to tingle others brains with from time to time. Cybertown itself can have its own trivia.

Last months issue question was: Who was blamed responsible for the Cybertown City Plaza bombing?

The Answer: Spca_Guy Outlands Vivo Army General

Heres another blast from the past for ya: When Flyby, former Mayor of Cybertown was held captive by Morph Terorist, where did the CVB reporter Blox Rocks find our Mayor? The answer will be posted in next months issue.

Whats on the Message Board?

I hope you are enjoying many of the activities and information on the colony message board. As we shift to different residents jumping online a bit more often, you will notice that a few games have been either changed or relocated. The Word Game and First post competition still seem to be holding ground on the colony board. From time to time you will find some useful downloads and funny jokes from our buddy BigDster.

With the unexpected resignation and loss of our friend dusttodust, the Hard Days trivia has made a transition in its location and name. You may now find this game in the Imagination Hood Message Board under "Imagination Trivia. We thank CypressBlade for taking charge of this event.

Plenty to see around the Adventure Colony

Have you taken a walk around the colony? The time is now! For the past month, the Adventure Colony has been on a role with new technical updates of Hood maps, message boards and block icons. Its the goal of all Adventure Colony employees to make the colony bigger and better each day. Tearing out a few walls and redecorarating a few rooms is the best way to do this. So please; take a stroll around the colony and see the changes for yourself. The hood staff will definately appreciate your feedback.

A little about the Dster

For those of you who do not know, my RL name is Roger, I'm married to a most wonderful woman of almost 22 years by the name of Sali, we have three grown daughters, seven grandchidren and a dog named Max lol. My wife is an LPN (Nurse) and I'm a Spotter/Truck Driver and we reside in East Central Illinois of the US. I could get more into my life history but I don't have all night lol, so this will just have to do :P

Anyways, I'm proud to be part of a great community such as Adventure, as well as discovering Cybertown. During my five plus year stint I have had the opportunity to meet some of the niceest people I could possibly ever imagine. Some of my friendships are ongoing, others have come and gone but not forgotten, but these times are times I will never forget! Thank you for your time, and as always, have a great day

June fever has hit Adventure as we continue to bring in more and more residents and staff to Adventure Colony. There are many to credit to this growth in polulation. Everyone has their style as to how they bring in a new citizen to the Adventure family but what it comes down to is simply that friendly and inovative atmostphere that Adventure brings. We enjoy and appreciate every single resident and staff that integrate into the Adventure community. To those who have made a choice to come to the most active colony in Cybertown, we welcome you home!

This time i would also like to congratulate Imagination Hood for their success in hitting the 100 mark in resident count. CypressBlade and his team of motivated staff are a huge powerhouse in Adventure.

Rhubarb Tea

This is a delicious way to enjoy fresh or frozen rhubarb. It's a variation on an old Shaker recipe, another example of the Shaker philosophy that dictates nothing is wasted.

4 cups diced unpeeled rhubarb, or 20-oz. bag frozen cut rhubarb
4 cups water
Zest of 1 small lemon
Zest of 1 small orange
3/4 to 1 cup sugar, or to taste
Ice cubes

The Original Homemade Lemonade

If you've only had lemonade from a mix, you've never had real lemonade. "Fresh" has never meant as much as in this original version of a timeless summer cooler.

7 large lemons, preferably organic, washed and dried
2 cups sugar
1 cup water
Pinch salt
Very cold water
Fresh mint or spearmint for garnish (Optional)

DIRECTIONS:
REMOVE ZEST from 2 lemons. Julienne zest; set aside. Thinly slice another lemon; set aside. Juice remaining 6 lemons.

In a heavy saucepan, combine zest, sugar, water and salt; simmer over low heat until syrupy, about 5 minutes. Strain syrup; cool. Pour into a 5- or 6-cup non-reactive container. Stir in reserved lemon juice, cover and chill.

To SERVE: Place 1 to 2 tablespoons lemon syrup in a tall glass. Add a few ice cubes, a lemon slice and very cold water. Stir, garnish with mint and serve. Makes 10 to 12 servings.

Interview with Super CypressBlade

I thought I was the only person who actually noticed but seeing I was totally wrong, I had to ask. Have you ever noticed an all blue guy with a cape cruising around the city plaza? Then out of knowhere a guy gets promoted and now this same blue guy is watching over the hood of Imagination? Well in case you didnt know who was behind the mask and cape its our very own Cypress_Blade, Imagination Hoods Neighborhood Leader.

Prior to meeting CypressBlade in January of this year, i was quiet facinated at the avatar of CypressBlade, when taking note of how his avatar was also integrated into his signiture and then much of Imagination hoods theme, i had to ask him about the idea behind the super hero theme. Its not common that you have a citizen who designs both avatars and 2d image graphics to reflect the avatar. This is a true themed representation of one person and how he portrays himself in the virtual community. The idea behind Cypress_Blades super hero theme comes from another citizen of Cybertown which Cyp met some years ago. Cyp says that the citizen was very good at vrml graphics and he always admired his work. This citizen also had an avatar which represented himself as a superhero. What made cypress get more into the idea is when he saw Cybertowns Founder Hawk make an appearance at the mall wearing a superhero-like avatar which Cyp says "should represent him in CT" lol. All these things together inspired him to not only create an authentic superhero avatar to represent himself but to go beyond that and incorporate it into 2d work.

CypressBlade features other characters which are not truly considered fellow superheroes but more-so side kicks and friends. One which is considered a seasonal superhero which was meant to be utilized was the bunny he developed as an item for easter in Cybertown. From what I hear, there are some ladies out there who want to meet this handsome bunny. You can find CypressBlade watching over the Imagination Hood 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Cyp has just completed his 5th character. To check out his heroes, take a walk to his home and have a look at his inbox HERE

I hope to see you at some of the events having loads of fun and walking away with loads of cash credits.

Check the Colony Calendar for Events

There is a link to the colony events right on the Colony Message board. This is kept up to date with the major upcoming events. Show up and don't be shy these events are always open to the public and are loads of fun! They are also a good way to get some extra CC's.

Now you will not only find games on the Colony mb but more interactive games on the Colony Information Board. So far there are two interactive games which can be found on the Information board and you bet there are more to come. Be sure to also check out the interesting stories and conversations to which you can join in!

So in recent days, you've noticed 2 Colony Malls which have been put into the spotlight around the Colony. These 2 Malls are just a few options of where you can shop to help fund colony events and new residents of Adventure. Thus far, both malls have raised over 200,000cc's since its advertising. These funds are placed in the Colony funds to be dispersed. We welcome you to shop at the Adventure Exclusive Mall and the Adventure Colony Trek.

Tour Of Duty

When I start my tour of duty god
Wherever crime may be.
As I walk the darkened streets alone
Let me be close to thee.

Please give me understanding
With both the young and old.
Let me listen with attention
until their story's told.

Let me never make a judgement
In a rash or callous way.
But let me hold my judgement
Let each man have his say.

Lord if some dark and dreary night
I must give my life,
Lord with your everlasting love
Protect my family and my wife.

Ill Love You Tommorow and Forever

If you asked me if i loved you
I would have to say no
For If you thought about that question
The answer you would already know

Iv told you time again
That Id love you tommorow and forever
So asking me if i love you today
You wouldnt have to ask me ever

So as you wake up in the morning
And slowly open your eyes
Tommorow has come my lady
And the answer still lays by your side

Jason's 2006 FIFA World Cup – Germany TM

The Football World Cup (Soccer for those in North America who are used to their own brand of football) is now well underway.

For those who do not know what is involved, the World Cup finals take place every 4 years and roams from continent to continent pitting the worlds best international teams against each other to determine who will be crowned World Champions. This time round Europe is the host nation and Germany the host country.

Qualifying for the World Cup Finals this year started in 2003 with 205 countries from around the globe taking part and progressing through qualifying rounds until the top 32 teams qualified.

The opening game took place on 9th June and the final takes place on the 9th July.

During the month, this feast of football involves 736 players, from 32 teams participating in 64 games at 12 stadiums around Germany to eventually crown one winner. In excess of 30 billion people from around the globe will tune in to watch the biggest sporting event on the planet.

I was lucky enough to have travelled across to Germany to sample some of it and I will be putting together an article on my experiences for the next edition of ACE. I also have the pleasure of being able to fly back to experience the World Cup Final itself. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity that I am looking forward to immensely.

Further information on the World Cup can be found on FIFA’s official website >>> http://www.fifaworldcup.com

Angels Dont Have Wings

I dont believe angels have wings
You dont have them yet you make me smile
Its funny how my best days in heaven
Are the ones when I drive miles and miles

I dont believe angels have wings
They would block your beauty and all your face
And now that Iv touched your skin
I swear god couldnt have put me in a better place

I dont believe angels have wings
If you flew away I would shed tears
I'd wait on you for a life time to come back
And share stories about you through the years

I dont believe angels have wings
You dont know how much I care
All I ever want to do is love you
And hope that you meet me half way there

I dont believe angels have wings
If they do, I know theres some for you
How close you have bought me to heaven
... If you ever only knew

BigDsters Move to a Bighouse

As some of you may know, my wife and I have been approved to buy our first home per RL and found the home of our dreams. A home we believe we'll be happy living in for the rest of our living days. It's not a big house because it's just the two of us, as our kids are grown with families of their own, so therefore it's just right for us. The bad thing about buying a home is the waiting, it can drive you nuts if you let it lol, but in the long run I'm sure the waiting will be well worth it.

The security threat level for Adventure this month is [ Liz Eyes ]. Its hmm... a blue, a really nice blue. Thats the only way i can really explain it. As we are at this level, we would like to use this time to remind you to read the Adventure Colony Guidelines and even more important; never mess with a security officers donut.

How To Be An Ace Speaker

Making a speach is deficult. Its a given. No matter how many speaches you prepare for, its always that nervousness that gets to you. Iv done plenty of speeches and yet, i still get nervous each time. I generally enjoy chatting it up with people and communicating but as you will find across the world, some people enjoy it a bit too much. To the point where every form of communication they partake in seems to drag on and on. For some, their speeches can drag on and when I go to ceremonies or semenars in the back of my head im screaming thinking to myself,"Just get it over with already"

As Carmine Gallo explains; "according to an recent Associated Press survey, People are running out of patience. We can't stand to wait more than five minutes on the phone, and we start fuming in long grocery store lines. Acknowledge this reality in your talks, e-mails, phone calls, presentations, meetings, and any other type of professional communications by getting to the point. Fast." I know its something i have to work on in my emails although my intention is to address every portion of a comment or concern. Carmine Gallo explains how to be a better speaker... Click Here

Hoi hoi Everyone,

First of all, let me congratulate all of our new staff over the past month. I've been seeing a lot of activity in the hoods with the new leaders around. This past month has been a month of planning and anticipation I think, we have seen some changes but nothing too drastic. This is all about to change :D We've got ourselves a new website; we're going to be planning some joint events to bring together not only the hoods and Adventure as whole but also other colonies. The honored title applications closed as of June 30'th so we'll have the award ceremony to look forward to this month and there are quite a few nominees this time around; it should be loads of fun.

As we continue to move forward I hope to see many changes taking place and many new events. We'll get some meetings on the calendar along with some big events and that combined with all of us should make a great month of July!!

I look forward to it!

We are ushering in a new Mayor MauveCat and Jolinth has been awarded City Advisor for her years of excellent service to CT and its wonderfull memebers. MauveCat has some big shoes to fill but I believe the transition to be a smooth one to my knowledge he is wroking on a ton of proposals as well as getting more users into our Cyber Community.

I noticed somewhere that our CL Klink might be hiring CS's to help along with things such as interviews and the gathering of articles to help lighten your load for the A.C.E. team. I believe CS's could be utilized for alot of things, but of course mainly the A.C.E.
